Athena Inn Boutique Chattanooga

I mulled over what to write-or even if to write- a review for the Athena Inn. You’re here so I l obviously decided to leave a review. I found the Athena on hotels.com. The pictures made it out to be an attractive place with decent reviews. Upon arrival at about 3:30 pm I was greeted by locked lobby doors and a relatively unfriendly gentleman behind the counter. As soon as we walked in the room the phone rang and it was aforementioned desk clerk telling me to move my car, which was parked in a marked spot, not labeled as handicapped or otherwise. It was one of five or six spots on the front of the building. First impressions are everything, right? My first impression was to check out and find a motel where I was welcomed. I decided to give it a shot on night #1. Upon checking out the room, I was pleasantly surprised. The fixtures were all updated and looked nice. The room was clean, although the towels were all stained. The pillows themselves were stained as well. The bed was comfortable to lay on but not to sleep. I cannot fault the motel for this. It was just a personal sleeping preference. Everything functioned as it should have with the exception of the shower. It was one of those multi head-sprays from everywhere-deals. The knobs were beginning to strip and one of the functions wasn’t working. Again, to no fault of the motel. Guests are rough on things that aren’t theirs. The shower definitely worked and served its purpose. We spent two nights. Both nights were quiet. There was no excessive noise from either guests or environmental sources. I was able to sleep through the night both nights. The area around the motel….well. It was ok. This is completely out of control of the owners of Athena Inn and does not reflect upon my stay or rating, but one direction you will find amenities such as food and convenience stores…the other direction, I wouldn’t venture too far into at night. Check out went smoothly. The same gentleman who checked us in checked us out. He was much nicer at check out. The rules of the motel are clearly written and posted. The value of my stay far exceeds the amount I paid. I was very pleased with what we received as compared to the rate we paid. Now, as far as breakfast, I cannot attest to the quality. The desk clerk stated it was a limited continental breakfast. I saw cereals, juice, coffee and possibly some other things, but I’m not a breakfast eater so I would say breakfast is as described. Overall, I would recommend Athena Inn to friends and family. I would most likely stay here again. I just hope my check in is more welcoming next time.

The proprietor was very friendly and gave over the top customer service. The room was clean and well maintained.

We booked a room last minute. When we drove up the location seemed to be okay. The guy at the desk was very friendly and courteous. The beds were comfortable. The shower was amazing. Only problem was the shower leaked at the bottom of the doors. I let the front desk know. Also make sure to check the mini fridge, we did not notice ours was not turned on until morning. Luckily we only had drinks in it.

A bit scared going in after reading the reviews. But, its all fair for the price. The only con I would say are the stains on the sheets. Everything else was fine!

The staff is amazing. The shower pressure is one of my most favorite things of this place. Location is easy to find and near a Sam's club and other national chain restaurants and stores to help help reload for the next portion of any trip. The part that I love the most about this place is that they actually have a breakfast each morning. It's not a hot breakfast, but that's okay. I'm definitely a game for their cereal and milk, yogurt, juice, and breakfast bars.

The location is great and very convenient to all of Chattanoogas offerings. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The price was the best around and the room was very clean, very nice and very well maintained. Would recommend staying here!

The place was clean, comfortable, and felt really welcoming. The staff were super friendly and made everything easy. Honestly, it was just a smooth, relaxing experience. I’d definitely stay here again.

Athena Inn is in my experience a wonderful place to stay. Very clean and safe. The staff are polite, kind, and helpful. It is in a perfect location for many events and not far from the airport. This will be my 4th time staying. Prices are incredible and I feel that a better small, low cost hotel really can't be found. That is my honest opinion. When I visit Chattanooga, I will always stay here. I hope it never closes! ***Be sure to call them and book directly.
